We are very sorry to announce that our Shelter Manager, Helen Kerris Shaw, will be leaving at the beginning of May. Helen has been our Shelter Manager for the past ten years but has been associated with St Francis for many years before that.
Helen started at St Francis in 1990 as a volunteer, when we were still at the Horton Heath site and has continued either volunteering or working at the shelter in some kind of capacity ever since.
Helen became the manager when the charity was going through a very difficult transition period and has been extremely hardworking and dedicated during her time with us. She has been responsible for finding hundreds of animals their forever homes and has always gone that extra mile for the animals in her care.
Sadly her health will no longer allow her to continue – everyone at St Francis wishes her a speedy recovery and every good wish for the future.
