Our Summer Fete is quickly approaching!
We urgently need donations of raffle and tombola prizes to help make this event a success. Anything that is new, can be used as a prize. For example, bottles of wine/spirits, biscuits, chocolates, soft toys, gift sets, toiletries, gift vouchers, children’s toys, plants etc. Do you have any unwanted gifts in your home that you could please donate? Or could your business or the company that you work for, donate a prize? We really are very grateful for any donations and these can be dropped into the shelter any day between 10am-2pm or please contact us via email – stfrancisanimalwelfare@gmail.com – to arrange for a staff member or volunteer to collect.
We also desperately need to beg or borrow some gazebos for our event. Do you have one that you no longer need or do you have one that we could please borrow?
There will also be a ‘good-as-new’ – bric-a-brac – stall at this event and we also have another jumble sale planned for August. We always welcome donations of clean and sellable bric-a-brac, children’s toys, CDs, books, games, kitchenware, electricals, DVDs, blu rays, jewellery, shoes, bags, accessories, ornaments, garden items, pet related items etc to help us raise funds. Again, these can be dropped off to the shelter or please contact us to arrange a collection. Please note that we cannot accept dirty clothing or broken or unusable items – these cost the shelter money to dispose of – money that we are sure our supporters would prefer that we spent on the animals!
Thank you in advance and we hope to see lots of you on the 23rd July at the Summer Fete, which will be our biggest event since before the lockdowns. Please note, that the Fete is at our shelter in Mortimers Lane and we will not be having a dog show (but dogs are still very welcome to attend)
